London Olympics 2012

The London Olympics 2012; can you believe it is all over.. coo.. I think I have never watched so much tv amongst lots of sewing and my 3 year old son now wants to take up lots of different sports.. What was your highlights?

B Ford attended the Decadence Vintage Bridal Fair on Sunday at The Malone House in Belfast, it was a super busy day with lots of amazing stands.. Thought I would share a few pics of my display and a few other stands..

Perfectly Pampered Evening

Last week we took part in a pamper event organised by Make Up Artist Jennifer Ireland in aid of Pretty 'n' Pink breast cancer charity. Held in the Windrose in Carrickfergus ladies enjoyed a champagne reception with delicious canapes, followed by several hours of pampering with hair and make-up advice, nail polishes and threading and shopping at pop-up shops including handmade jewellery and head pieces, delicious cupcakes and home wares as well as upstyled furniture and interior designs. With a "Just for Girls" raffle later in the night, the evening was finished with an array of entertainment including dances and lessons from burlesque group the Whistle Bait Babies, tricks and illusion from magician Rodd Hogg, swing music from Dave Martin followed by dancing the night to a close with Stewart Harper of Harper Entertainments. Proceeds on the night totalled £760.07.

Northern Ireland's Wedding Belle Summer 2012 Magazine

Tie The Knot - Nicholl for Topshop Bride

This sounds exciting Mr Richard Nicoll designs a bridal collection for Topshop which was unveiled today. The collection is Nicoll's, as well as Topshop's, first ever bridal-specific offering.

"I proposed the idea after my spring/summer 2012 show," Nicoll explained. "I liked the idea of making a modern affordable alternative to meringue culture. The dresses are marketed as bridal but would equally be suitable as bridesmaid or cocktail dresses."

The capsule range - comprising seven dresses, both full-length and short - is embued with Nicoll's signature fuss-free femininity and easy, wearable coolness. The collection features lace and silk dresses in both white and pink - priced from £75 to £350 - and is called Tie The Knot! But don't expect Nicoll to make bridal his new day job.

"I've added a some red carpet options to my forthcoming resort collection but wedding dresses are not something I plan to launch," Nicoll - who has made wedding dresses for friends in the past - told us. "Of course I'm happy to make them on request but I'm not the new Vera Wang, no!"
